Financial Assistance

The YMCA is a charitable, non-profit organization, whose purpose is to seek to improve the quality of community life by promoting the physical, mental and spiritual health of people of all ages, by encouraging family activities and by building respect for the individual in human relationships.

The Franklin-Grove City YMCA Board of Directors feels strongly that the YMCA is for everyone.  No one will be turned away because of inability to pay, subject to the availability of funds.  Our mission is to serve the people of our communities.

The YMCA believes that a strong sense of ownership and pride is developed if the financial assistance recipient contributes to the cost of their YMCA involvement; therefore, applicants should be asked to pay an affordable portion of the membership or program fees.  All application records will be held in strict confidence.

Guideline

  • The Financial Assistance Scale will be considered when determining the amount of financial assistance provided. The scale is the federal guidelines distributed by the area school district annually. This scale is based on income and family size.
  • The Financial Assistance Application form will be completed by the member and will include at least two of the following forms: a copy of the prior year's 1040 and W-2; current pay stubs, and Social Security Income (SSI) payment statement.
  • Financial Assistance requests are managed by the professional membership staff with all hardship or unqualified applicants brought to the Executive Director for final approval. A Scholarship Report will be provided as needed and/or annually to the Board of Managers.
